Hey ladies and gents! Got some sick goldfish? Here is a handy tip to make them better! Cut 3 small frozen green peas in half and drop them in a CLEAN tank of water. First Date Jitters

I was just randomly thinking about all the dates I ever been on and thought to myself, “First dates suck.” Because, well, they just do. Especially if it’s with someone you just recently started to talk to. I thought, “Wouldn’t it be awesome if there was some sort of guidelines or rule book for 1st dates?!” and then a chorus of angles sang in my ear. I should write one to help those other people who hate 1st dates too!! So, here it goes…

Meeting new people can sometimes be nerve wrecking, let alone dating new people. As women, we sometimes feel the need to make the best first impression. We go out, get new lipstick, new dress, new shoes, so we can get the compliments we secretly crave (admit it, we do this, a lot) but, on a first date, he is also trying to impress you. And if he isn’t, leave. Quickly. To make sure your 1st date runs smoothly here are a few tips.

1) Do something the two of you can enjoy, even if it’s the typical dinner and a movie at least it’s a start and a good way to really get to know your date. Ladies, I honestly don’t suggest eatig chicken wings and ribs on the 1st date. Unless you want him to think you’re half caveman (just my opinion)
2) Remember that anything can happen at any time. It may be one of those days that anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Dropping your food, tripping over a crack in the street, burping REALLY loud in the restaurant… don’t make the situation awkward!! Have a sense of humor and attempt to make a joke out of it. If you’re comfortable with your goofy mistakes, he will be too.
3) Check your past at the door!! Talking about odd work details and that weird rash on your foot is a super turn off. The biggest 1st date NO-NO is talking about your past relationships!! Don’t do it!!

Tip for Nail Polish Lovers!!

Love, love, love your nail polish but it sometimes dries out and becomes sticky and gross?? I absolutely hate when that happens. I came across this tip a couple weeks ago and thought it’d be great for all the nail polish lovers out there. Try storing your favorite shades in the refrigerator to keep it silky and smooth. Keeping them in the fridge prolongs the life of that little $9.50 bottle of OPI’s Lincoln Park After Dark ;)

Boy's Tip: Manscaping it’s OK!!

I happen to like my men a little scruffy. But when it comes to those caterpillars on their face, ooo baby, that’s a totally different story. Most nail shops charge $7-10 to wax eyebrows, and a simple manicure/pedicure is $25-30. Make a fun time of it; you could even make it a date. Guys, dirty fingernails are a big time NO-NO. There’s all types of bacteria that can be living in those grubby nails of yours. There is nothing “gay” about being clean. A mani/pedi every once in a while never hurt anyone. And even a facial now and then would help keep you looking sexy. Especially if you know you break out easily. Cleanse those pores!! Tame those eyebrows. Clean those nails!! A clean man is a sexy man, remember that.

Want gorgeous skin? Drink lots of water! This has to be the cheapest trick in the book! In addition to that to clean your pores turn the shower on to the hottest it can go close the door and allow the steam to engulf your face and cleanse those pores! and for acne prone skin, here is a simple and cheap mask that can be found out walgreens! Its called Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask, it will run you about $3.99, but it lasts forever. My grammy used to use this stuff and my mommy and now me! I swear by it, and if you have a pesky pimple just grab a Q-tip and dab it on, leave it on over night and when you wake up that puppy will be gone!

Quick Fix for Super Star Legs!

Hey ladies don't have enough money for Michael Kors leg shine? No problem i have a simple quick fix, it may sound silly but just spray a lil oil sheen on your legs, rub it in and your set!  when you have those short skirts and dresses you want you legs to glisten and look like your fav celebs. So here is a simple and cost effective way to get more uses out of you oil sheen! I learned this trick a few years ago and haven't turn back ever since! :)

OMGoodness!! How have I gone through life not knowing about these awesomely amazing things known as flexi rods?! I was watching YouTube videos and came across a young woman using the rods on her hair. Flexi rods are a great way to curl your hair while avoiding use of a curling iron. For starters they cost way less than a curling iron and are more fun to use. Sally's Beauty Supply carries Diane Flexi Rods for $8.49 for a pack of six. It was reported by CNN today that singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment, she was only 27. An amazing singer, she will truly be missed. If you haven't already, give her albums "Frank" and "Back to Black" a listen. These are probably some of the best albums ever recored. Makeup Brushes!!

Ok, so every Diva needs a set of makeup brushes to achieve that perfect look because q-tips and cotton balls just don't get the job done. Recently (today) I bought a 10 piece set of makeup brushes for $10. Yes, that's right. 10 bucks. A quality set of brushes can set a makeup enthusiast back at least $100+. Try to avoid buying into big name makeup companies for brushes ie; Sephora, MAC, and NARS, when Coastal Scents, E.L.F, and Shany make good brushes for a fraction of the price. Have a REALLY BRIGHT pink lipstick, such as MAC's Pink Friday, Saint Germain, Pink Nouveau, or Lady Gaga's Viva Glam VI? Try lightly lining your lips with a medium brown liner such as Wet n Wild's Medium Brown Lip Liner (99¢ @ DrugStores) and delicately dab your lips with your lipstick until you get your desired pink. Apply a light coat of clear lipgloss to complete your look, and you're ready to go!!
